Fundamentals and Practical Recommendations
Organizers
- Mikhael Gorokhovski (LMFA, Ecole Centrale de Lyon, France)
- Carlo Massimo Casciola (La Sapienza Università, Rome, Italy)
Friday 5 March 2021
On 5th March 2021 at 02:00 PM (Paris time), the ERCOFTAC Pilot Center Henri Bénard has organized its third zoom-meeting on “COVID19 Flows: Fundamentals and Practical Recommendations”. The main points in two invited lectures include the characterization of respiratory sprays (formation, ejection, turbulent fluid and thermal dynamics), and the impact of different masks on the flow physics.
Invited speakers
- Professor Detlef Lohse, University of Twente
- Professor Christian Kähler, Bundeswehr University Munich
Program
- 14:00 - 15:00
Extended lifetime of respiratory droplets in a turbulent vapor puff and its implications on airborne disease transmission
Professor Detlef LOHSE
Physics of Fluids Group, University of Twente, Netherlands
This is joint work with Kai Leong Chong, Chong Shen Ng, Naoki Hori, Morgan Li, Rui Yang, and Roberto Verzicco.
- 15:00 - 16:00
How to prevent SARS-CoV-2 infections via droplets and aerosols
Professor Christian J. KÄHLER
Institute for Fluid Mechanics and Aerodynamics, Bundeswehr University Munich, Germany
